| Niki Evans leaves the X Factor, just missing out on a place in next week's final. Despite it being a close call tonight, we rate Niki's performances as best of the night and feel that she is very unlucky not to make the final. She bows out with an absolutely brilliant reprise of One Moment In Time. Way to go, Niki! |
| When Dermot reveals the acts who've made it through after the public vote, the 'no particular order' sees Same Difference announced first. Sean and Sarah jump for joy. Rhydian Roberts is a bit calmer but no less delighted when next declared. This leaves Leon and Niki to await their fate. After Leon's name is called, he sheds a few tears and it is the gracious loser, Niki, who takes him in her arms and consoles him! |
An upbeat Niki tells Dermot "I feel absolutely fantastic. I want to thank everybody because they've been so fantastic." She thanks all the judges, but gives her mentor Louis Walsh special mention, revealing to Dermot that her favourite moment of the contest is when Louis picked her for the finals.
Dermot reminds Niki of the praise heaped upon her by Duran Duran heart throb Simon Le Bon. Niki replies that "Simon Le Bon is a lovely guy, but not as good as Louis!" |
| Louis chips in to tell Dermot how he would have loved Niki to get to the final, adding "Celine Dion loved her, Michael Bublé loved her, I love her." |
| Earlier, on the results show Michael Bublé sang a fine rendition of the aptly titled "Lost". He then gave a few soundbites on each of the final 4 acts... |
- Rhydian - "Scary". Michael reckons the Welshman will have Josh Groban and Il Divo looking over their shoulders.
- Niki - "Sexy, a big voice... powerful".
- Same Difference - "cutie-pies... each one of them could blow anyone away".
- Leon - "To be honest with you I was copying him tonight... You watch, he's gonna sell millions of records."

Next week it's the Grand Finale, and 3 very different acts will sing their hearts out for that coveted £1 million record deal. Who will it be? Front runner Rhydian? Dark horse Leon? Children's favourites Same Difference? We really don't have a clue! X-citing!
