Futureproof leave in Simon shocker!

Groups mentor Simon Cowell had the unhappy task of deciding between two of his own acts when Futureproof and Hope landed the bottom 2 places on tonight's final 9 show.

Louis and Sharon voted for Futureproof, Dannii followed by voting for Hope to leave. This left Simon to choose between tying the scores (thus allowing the public vote determine which group should go) or sending Futureproof home. After making it clear that he was basing his decision on which group had the best long term prospects he named Futureproof as the group to go home.

It was a toughie for Simon, and based on their live show performances so far we feel that Futureproof are very unlucky to be leaving tonight. Before tonight's show closed out, Futreproof's Aaron promised it wouldn't be the last we'd see of the band. Later on the Xtra Factor he put it rather poetically "X Factor started us. X Factor won't finish us."

On a brighter note the happiest act tonight must be young Alisha Bennett, who after languishing in the bottom 2 for the last 2 weeks performed her cotton socks off tonight and was the first to be declared safe.
