Emily Nakanda quits The X Factor

Emily Nakanda sings 'I Knew You Were Waiting'.X Factor's youngest finalist, Emily Nakanda, 15, has withdrawn from the show after a mobile phone 'happyslapping' video surfaced yesterday which allegedly showed her attacking another teenage girl.
Earlier this week a separate video was posted on YouTube.com which appeared to show Emily threatening to stab a teenage boy. Referring to this video an X Factor spokesman said "The clip on YouTube clearly shows Emily and her friends messing about, although Emily admits this is in poor taste." This video has since been removed from the website.
Emily's mum, Louis Friberg has said: "As a family we are heartbroken and are very disappointed with Emily's behaviour, we feel that there is no choice but to withdraw Emily from the competition."
Sharon Osbourne who is Emily's mentor on the show has said she is "deeply saddened" by the situation. We are also sad that Emily has ended up leaving the contest in this way. Whilst the alleged behaviour can't be excused it should be remembered that she has only recently turned 15, therefore she is still maturing.
It sounds like her mum is handling the situation responsibly. Hopefully the press will allow herself and Emily space and time to resolve the issues arising from this week's revelations.
