| X Factor 4 - Final 12 - The Performances |
The theme for X Factor Final 12 Night is U.K. Number Ones. For a refresher on how the finalists performed and what the 4 mentors had to say, check out the links below... |
Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: Kimberley you bring the fun factor to 'X Factor'... not the best singer in the world, but who cares? Dannii Minogue: ...You have a fantastic voice! Where you are going to stumble is when you over do it... but there is a lot more to see from you... Simon Cowell: ...It was fine, if you like karaoke on a big budget!...Nothing wrong with it. Look, it was fun.... Lots of personality. It was a bit shreiky ...but it was fun. Fun! Sharon Osbourne: You have the toughest gig to open this show. You did just fine! Kimberley: I feel alive!... Simon... that's fine but I still fancy you.

Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: ...I love the kind of Welsh thing in your voice. I predict you are going to go a long, long way in this competition... Sharon Osbourne: ...Divine... fabulous young man. (Cheering And Applause) Are you glad it's over, the song? Simon Cowell: ...you're very good at what you do down the camera lens... It was a bit wet... I do think you're capable of more... Dannii Minogue: ...I love seeing you in your comfort zone... I just wanna say, we've got so much more to show from you to come. Andy: (On the judges comments) Generally quite good, fair play ...it went well I think.... Male Audience member: We love you Andy! Dermot O'Leary: Big gruff man likes you over there Andy.
|
Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: ...I think there's two or three really good voices Simon... in this band. It was bit of a safe performance for the first night. Sharon Osbourne: Guys, you have all worked so hard and it has paid off.... Dannii Minogue: What I am really excited about but scared about is that you guys are good ...a few tuning problems hitting your harmonies ...you look great, and Sean... (Sexy wink!) ...very good. Simon Cowell: ...I thought for the first performance, you did really, really well ...I think we've got a really good group here.
|
Panel-Bites: Sharon Osbourne: Missus! Missus! Beverley! Woo! Who knew! ...Amazing. Great soul voice. You're fantastic. Love ya. Dannii Minogue: Beverley, amazing transformation... Love the way you sang the song... Few bum notes here and there but it's gotta be down to nerves... Simon Cowell: ...You look terrific. Okay, negative first... It was very 'Stars In Their Eyes' I thought ...It was very copy-cat. It was fun. It will be popular. You can't dance, by the way. .. Louis Walsh: Listen... she's a fantastic singer and that's why I chose her. And Beverley, I know you have an awful lot more to give in this competition and I believe in you totally and I hope everybody votes for you and you will survive!

Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: ...You're 15 years old! You did amazing. You've got a great raw talent. However, I would love to hear you do a big ballad. Dannii Minogue: Emily, the song had a great playfulness to it which is so much part of your personality, but I think the execution didn't quite follow through. Simon Cowell: Emily, ...I'm gonna say what I think everyone at home watching this will be saying as well, is that is the vocals weren't great in the middle of the track, they were a bit flat. Sharon Osbourne: Emily, believe me, we have all heard a lot worse than that... It's really hard because you are typically a ballad singer and it's hard for you to come in and be bubbly, dancing, and doing it all and your homework at the same time ...you did just fine. Emily: (On the judges) The comments were completely fair and I will take them into account. Dermot O'Leary: ...to be fair to Emily ...big ask today ...you've lowered the age range this year, ...we're asking a lot of her ...Am I right? Simon Cowell: ...Dermot, you've gotta treat everybody as if they're the same age. ...I don't believe in patronising people. Sharon Osbourne: No, I don't either but she can't put in the same amount of time as everybody else because of the age. Simon Cowell: Then she shouldn't have entered the competition. Sharon Osbourne: Rubbish! You shouldn't have lowered it to that age. (Applause)

Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: Leon, when I first saw you... I thought you were an amazing, amazing talent ...and you come out tonight ...You lost all the melody. It was a dreadful arrangement! ...You are great but the song was a disaster. Sharon Osbourne: Hi sweet boy... you do have a really, really good voice ...and you've got a really likeable personality... I just think... the song, the arrangement... it was all a bit frantic, all a bit, you know....'woo-oo'... and, um, wasn't good. Simon Cowell: ...That was a complete and utter nightmare. The arrangement was terrible, your timing was all over the place, it was a complete mess and I think you've taken the place of somebody else who should be in the show... Dannii Minogue: Leon, let me just say you only lost it in the middle section. You chose the hardest song... it's music that you're passionate about... Leon: (To the judges) I'll try and take your comments on board. So, thanks very much for your comments.

Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: The song was called 'Tragedy', I think it should have been called 'Disaster' (Boos)... He slagged me last year when I had the McDonald's... yee make the McDonald's look like Lennon and McCartney... It's cheesy, it's Butlins, it's 80s, but it's very Simon Cowell. Sharon Osbourne: ...You are definitely double cheese burger with bacon! But, you know what? I love cheese burgers and I love bacon! Dannii Minogue: I think there is probably a huge market who'd buy your albums. It's very entertaining... Don't push it on the vocals because there was screeching often and clashing at some points... that might have been too much skipping! Simon Cowell: Guys, I would just like to be you two for an hour a day so I could be happy! ...the biggest group in the world right now is 'High School Musical' and I think you appeal to the same audience. Louis... you've made yourself sound like a miserable old man. Sarah: Erm, thank you for your comments, Louis, but we hope we that we're here next week so we can get you cheesy. Because we know you love it really. |
Panel-Bites: Sharon Osbourne: ...I tell you, missus, you are in a class of your own. (Cheers) Best performance tonight. Dannii Minogue: Niki, you're a real singer and I don't know if you've quite grasped that yet and that's so endearing ...I loved that performance! Niki: Thank you. (Cheering And Applause) Simon Cowell: ...The first time we saw you we heard this incredible story about your dad and then you were so surprised when we said you were good. Now you have to put that behind you, because you are good. In fact you're more than good, that was actually fantastic. Now you have to lift your shoulders, you have to believe that you could win... (To Louis) ...You owe her and the rest of your competitors an apology. Louis Walsh: ...I'm not apologising to you! Simon Cowell: To her! Louis Walsh: Niki!.... Niki and I are friends. Niki, are you happy working with me? Niki: I love you, Louis. (Blows him a kiss) You're the best one. Louis Walsh: ...That's the performance of the night so far. You nailed it and it was absolutely amazing.

Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: Wow! You already look like a diva. ...You sing great, you dance great. I loved the whole performance. ...I wasn't crazy about your song, but I love you. Dannii Minogue: Song sounded good. There's interesting bits to your voice that are raspy but make sure they don't get annoying throughout ...It was really cool but you've gotta connect with your eyes down the camera. Simon Cowell: I'm not sure... that that was the right song for you because the song does that ('Stays on one level' - Simon raises a flat hand), it doesn't do anything more than that. Um, and I think you may be vulnerable tonight after that performance. (Murmurs) Sharon Osbourne: I love her and it's my fault, I chose the song and I have to agree with everyone here. Crap song, I chose it. You didn't. I made you sing it. Get rid of me, not her. Dermot O'Leary: Do you agree with what Sharon said about the song? Alisha: Erm, you know, it's nerves. I have let nerves get to me a bit and you will... if you keep me in you'll get to see the real me, trust me.
|
Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: Rhydian ...You're arrogant, you're pompous, you're ambitious and you're talented. You remind me of Simon in the first three ...You are talented and I think we're going to see a lot more from you. Sharon Osbourne: ...Sweet boy. Strange boy. Weird boy. Mamma doesn't know what to make of you. Can I see your chest? ...Actually I must say you do have a very good voice, very strong. You are barking...but... in a good way. That's just my opinion! Goodbye. Simon Cowell: ...By far the best performance we have had tonight... You are the one person I would look forward to seeing week on week. Dannii Minogue: Looks like Marmite is back in vogue then! I thought that was just genius... And it's the tip of the iceberg of what we have to show them... Simon Cowell: Dannii ...I just wanna say... because you have had some interesting press... You are actually a very nice, polite person, so I wanted to say that. Rhydian: (On the judges) I will take on board what they said. I also want to say happy birthday to Dannii... she's a fantastic mentor. I just want to stay in hopefully to prove that I'm not just an egotistical maniac, I'm a performer, but then, offstage, I'm also human.
|
Panel-Bites: Sharon Osbourne: Smile! Smile for the mother. Um, it was very nice. Bit touchy-feely, you know, all of that... bit dramatic, but it was very nice. Dannii Minogue: The vocals improved since the rehearsal today... A bit robotic with the movements. Understandable. Put it down to nerves. Simon Cowell: ...it was a bit boring really, because you're not a rock singer... I am used to hearing the Bryan Adams version with a rock voice... It is a bit like... like eating water for dinner. It doesn't leave you with anything. Louis Walsh: Daniel, it wasn't the best performance of the night. I'm not going to patronise you... You will have to work harder to stay in the competition. Dermot O'Leary: Did you think that was the right song for you? Daniel: For the first show, absolutely definitely. I wanted to sing it and I want to thank Louis for letting me sing it.

12. Hope Song: Umbrella (Rihanna )Hope, like Future Proof, were formed at boot camp at the behest of Louis Walsh, who happens to know a thing or two about boy and girl bands. Louis thinks they can be the UK's Pussycat Dolls and they certainly have the seX Factor. Raquelle Gracie's revealing top makes her a strong contender for the Nicole Scherzinger role in this interesting 5-piece vocal ensemble.
Hope deliver an appealing and polished version of Rihanna's record breaking UK number one.Baby of the band, Phoebe Brown, 16, is a standout meriting special mention from Simon. However, Phoebe admits she's worried. No, she's not worried about her performance, but, as she explains to Dermot O'Leary, "My parents will definitely kill me, I'm showing too much flesh." | |
Panel-Bites: Louis Walsh: ...You look like you have been doing this for years ...you came out, you sang, you look incredible. You are like the UK's version of the Pussycat Dolls. Sharon Osbourne: ...I have a problem... you are good looking, sexy, you can sing and I hate ya! (Laughter) Seriously, well done. I know... fantastic, really. Dannii Minogue: Louis, Louis, Louis, Louis. Thank you for your experiment idea of letting them put this together, because I think both bands have done really well tonight ...It was good. Simon Cowell: ...I totally agree with Louis, it was as good as anybody you see in the charts today and I have to pay special... to you, Phoebe ...Most importantly you girls have seemed to have sorted out whatever problems you've had. Dermot O'Leary: And lastly, Phoebe, you said, you sort of pointed to your outfit and you went, "My mum is going to kill me!" ...She will be proud of you now, right? Phoebe: Yeah, but my parents will still kill me 'cause I am showing too much flesh... but it doesn't matter...
