George speaks before his audition...
George: (Inaudible) I mean, I'd do anything for charity. I wish I could be a big star, not Joe average. Let's see, let's see. It's my pride and joy
George enters the audition room... Simon Cowell: Why are you here?
George: (Inaudible - sounds kind of like...) To take part in your incredible series. (Maybe!)
Simon Cowell: What artist would you aspire to be George in the next 10 years?
George: (Sounds like...) They all like me. I have respect for other people.
Simon Cowell: Who?
George: You can't wish for anything better.
Simon Cowell: And do you think you can win the show?
George: (Mumbles what sounds like...) That's my life. That's my life.
Simon Cowell: All right. (Under his breath) Didn't understand a word of that... All right George.
George sings...
¯ Oh ho ho ho ¯ When no-one else can understand me ¯ And we're always there ¯ To lend a hand ¯ In everything I do ¯ That's the wonder ¯ The wonder of you ¯ Simon Cowell: (Interrupts) Okay George... This is one of those moments where I ask myself why we do this.
Sharon Osbourne: I don't think your voice is right for recording. There's a problem...
Simon Cowell: (Talking over Sharon) No-one would understand a single word.
Sharon Osbourne: ...with your diction. I'm just trying to say that Simon! Right George?
Simon Cowell: Or you sell a record with subtitles. Louis, yes or no?
Louis Walsh: Erm, I think it's going to have to be no.
George: Fair enough.
Simon Cowell: Sharon?
Sharon Osbourne: No, but thanks for coming in.
George: Fair enough.
Simon Cowell: Thanks, George.
George: Thanks very much.
Outside the audition room George's self-confidence remains undented... George: I have got the X Factor. Brilliant!
