Louis Walsh: Okay, I only have one act left in this competition but he's very, very special. And he's the main reason I came back. His name is Shayne Ward from Manchester!
Shayne sings...
Kate Thornton: Sharon, your comments, please? (Shayne pats his chest)
Sharon Osbourne: What's the matter? Shayne, why are we patting our chest, Shayne? It's mummy! Why are we patting our chest?
Shayne: Pardon?
Sharon Osbourne: I said, "why were you patting your chest?"
Shayne: (Pats his chest again) Because I'm thinking of you!
Sharon Osbourne: Oh darling! Darling! I love you! Anyway Shayne, I love that song. Really I do. One of my favourite songs and you sang it really well. And I love you too very much! ...And I'll show you how much later! (Applause)
Shayne: Oooh!
Kate Thornton: Thank you Sharon... I think. (Laughs)
Sharon Osbourne: (To Simon, who's pulling a disdainful face.) It's all right... Oh, behave. Kate Thornton: Simon, what would you like to add?
Simon Cowell: Not a lot. Ahm... It is one of the best pop records of all time. I mean it's incredibly associated with George Michael. Ah... you know... I'm going to be honest with you Shayne, I mean it was difficult for you following Brenda because it was such an outstanding vocal performance that. Having said that, you performed it brilliantly and I think and I hope that you've done enough to get through to next week.
Shayne: (Beckoning the audience, arms raised) Do you think I've done enough? (Audience cheers)
Kate Thornton: Okay, thank you Simon. Louis, you're mentoring Shayne, what did you make of that performance?
Louis Walsh: Shayne, I think you gave a great performance. It's a very, very hard song to sing, but you know, you made it your own and you're different than anybody else in the competition... (excitedly) but we need votes! We need everybody to vote for him! (Cheers)
Kate Thornton: Okay, thank you judges. Shayne you've heard what the judges have got to say. What would you like to say back to them?
Shayne: Erm, thank you for your comments, again, I'm just so glad to be here and I just hope I'm here next week again, just to show you that I'm worthy to be here. And Simon thank you for your comment. I mean I'm... It'll only make me better, d'you know what I mean? (Simon nods) ...(To the viewers) Please vote for me, please.
Kate Thornton: Now, Shayne next weekend it gets really serious, it's The X Factor semi-final. You're down to the final 5 from 75,000, so why should people keep with you and keep their votes coming?
Shayne: I want people to vote for me because I am not safe unless you put me there. So pick up your phone, dial that number and please vote for me? Please? (Cheers)
Kate Thornton: And he asked so nicely. (Kate gives out the voting numbers etc) ...but for now, ladies and gentlemen, it's Shayne! (Shayne kisses Kate on the cheek and exits the stage waving.)
