Chico Slimani - X Factor Final 7 Show

Chico Slimani
Song: Chico Time (Chico Slimani (Original))

Chico Slimani singing his "Chico Time" number on The X Factor final 7 show.
Chico is a true original in this contest, and to underscore his originality he is performing an 'original' number tonight, penned jointly by himself and vocal coach Mark Hudson.
The song's title is "Chico Time", okay maybe that bit isn't so original... but it was originally!
Chico seems to accept that he may not be the best singer in the pack, but on entertainment value alone he's right up there with the best.
It's time to wiggle-it for Chico and 2 of his more grown up Chic-ettes.

Tonight, team Osbourne has pulled out all the stops for Chico.

They bring on the sexy bum wiggling dancing girls and later on he's joined by a group of dancing kids, or to give them their proper name 'the little chicos and chic-ettes'!

It's a spectacle of fun and celebration.

The Chico's and Chic-ettes look like they're having a great time and one little Chico gives the grown up version some serious competition in the dancing stakes.

As for the song, it's seriously catchy and thankfully not too demanding vocally! Louis thinks Chico could have a big hit with it and remarkably people are already laying bets that it will be the Christmas number one for 2005!

Chico slam-dunks a gimmie five onto one of his little Chico dancer troup.

No wonder cheeky Chico is on a high! He doesn't forget to thank those who've helped him though. In fact his list is so long that Simon has to remind him that this isn't The Grammys. By the time Chico is finished his speech Kate Thornton thinks she is at The Grammys!

Chico Slimani feels like he's at the Grammys and he almost convinces Kate Thronton that she is too!

Panel-Bites:

Sharon Osbourne:  Oooh... well guys, I think it's Chico time.

Intro clip...

Chico:  Tonight is the night because tonight I'm just singing a song that Mark and I worked on last week and it's called "It's Chico time".

Mark Hudson: Chico is unique. How could he be more comfortable than singing... not someone else's song, but his own?

Sharon Osbourne:  Why not do it? It's Chico's song.

Chico:  I'm singing my own song to ten million people on a Saturday night. This is what dreams are made of man.

Sharon Osbourne:  It's a risk he's taking

Chico:  For me, every week is a risk.

Mark Hudson: This is a dangerous song, but you know something? I'm actually stepping up for Chico and saying "look out".

Chico:  If I come on stage and you're smiling by the end of it, then I'm doing my job. That is it.

Sharon Osbourne:  You don't want to miss it because it because you're gonna be dancing.

Chico:  It's going out to all the cheeky Chicos and the gorgeous Chic-ettes. What time is it? It's Chico time.

Chico sings...

Audience: Chico! Chico!

Kate Thornton:  Louis, your comments, please?

Louis Walsh:  Well... what can I say? Everybody loves Chico. Chico, you are very brave to do your own song. You could probably have a big, big hit record with it. (Cheers)

Chico:  Wow... uh! God willing yeah.

Kate Thornton:  Okay, thanks Louis. Ah... Simon?

Simon Cowell:  I don't know what to say any more. (Laughter) I mean what the hell has happened to this show? I mean, when you said "Dreams are made of this", I'm sure there's a lot of people thinking "actually nightmares". (Laughter, Chico grins). But it was sort of "horribly fantastic". (Cheers) And Chico I've got to tell you... those kids were incredible!

Chico:  Yes! (More cheers)

Simon Cowell:  Incredible... brilliant.

Chico:  The Chicos and the Chic-ettes.

Kate Thornton:  Thank you Simon. Sharon, you're mentoring Chico. Er, you've been working with him on this number all week, how did it come off for you?

Sharon Osbourne:  Really great. And I know how hard you have worked all week on this and your little Chic-ettes are fantastic. Wherever you found them, they're gorgeous!

Simon Cowell:  (To Sharon) Let me ask you a question? Do you sort of feel like Frankenstein after he created the monster?

Sharon Osbourne:  Ohh no!

Simon Cowell:  No?

Sharon Osbourne:  He's not a monster, he's a...

Louis Walsh:  (Warning Simon) Be careful... be careful...

Sharon Osbourne:  ...He's Chico!

Louis Walsh:  ...there's a lot of water on this desk. (Laughter) Be careful.

Kate Thornton:  Okay thanks judges. Now er Chico, you've heard all kinds of things come from the judges there. What would you like to say back to them?

Chico:  Ohhh... ah... to be honest with you... if he says horribly and it ends with fantastic.... it'is fantastic. (Simon laughs. Audience cheers) ...It's just... he's trying to mask it. (Laughs) You know, all... all I want to say is thank you to Mark, who's worked tirelessly with Andy... Sharon for believing in me... Simon for giving...

Simon Cowell:  (Shouts over) Oh it's not Grammys Chico!

Chico:  I'll tell you what...

Kate Thornton:  (Grinning) Not yet Simon!

Chico:  I'll tell you what... I just wanna say... thank you to the little Chicos and Chic-ettes....

Kate Thornton:  Yeah.

Chico:  And really all I wanna do...

Kate Thornton:  They were great.

Chico:  What... what I wa... All I wanna do is actually bring a smile to someone's face and for the people to let themselves go, find the child in them and have a good time! (Cheers) Have a good time! That is all I want to say. We take life so serious we should take a little leaf out of a child's book... pure in heart and spirit and mind... and when you look at them having a good time, just look at them... say you know "I'm going to have a good time just like you." Find the child in you! Find the little kid in you and vote for cheeky Chico. (Blows a kiss to the audience) I love you!

Kate Thornton:  I think I am at the Grammys, you know! So? Are you going to find the child inside of you? Are you? Are you gonna give Chico your vote? If you are give him a cheeky call... (Kate gives out the voting numbers etc.) ... but for now, he gave us a great time with Chico time, let's hear it for Chico! (Cheers. Chico hugs Kate and exits)
