Louis Walsh: (Introduction) Okay, my first act up tonight is a young guy. His name is Nicholas.
Intro clip... Louis Walsh: I think Nicholas is great. He looks like a star. He performs like a star, but I don't think he has done himself justice on a Saturday night yet.
Nicholas: I'm really worried that I'm just fading into the background compared to the other contestants. I'm not able to shine as much as them.
Louis Walsh: For some reason, his performance and the songs, they're not gelling yet.
Nicholas: He's struggling to see where I'm heading.
Louis Walsh: When I find an artist I usually go into a studio with them and I try and find their sound and with Nicholas I haven't quite found his sound yet.
Nicholas: It seems like every week I go out there... it's still not happening.
Louis Walsh: We're still experimenting, every song is an experiment, but we're doing it live on TV.
Nicholas: I'm starting to doubt myself a little bit.
Louis Walsh: It's like playing Russian roulette because every week he is in danger.
Nicholas: If I don't find it quick my days are numbered.
Louis Walsh: He needs to pull a killer performance out of the bag and I really believe tonight is the night that Nicholas will shine.
Nicholas sings...
Kate Thornton: Sharon, your comments, please?
Sharon Osbourne: (Smiling) Hi Nick... Ah, good song choice tonight Nick, I like the song a lot. You were having some tuning problems in that song tonight...
Nicholas: Okay.
Sharon Osbourne: ...and, you know I really like what you do, but I just still don't feel that you're raising the bar up...
Nicholas: (Nods) Mmm.
Sharon Osbourne: ...you know I don't see your performance going anywhere. (Moving her hand across on a level) You are very much like this.
Nicholas: (Nods) Okay.
Sharon Osbourne: And each week I still keep waiting to see you go up another notch and another one and I just haven't seen it.
Nicholas: Okay, all right.
Kate Thornton: Okay thanks Sharon. Simon?
Simon Cowell: Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear Nicholas. You know, I mean look, let's not forget this... this is allegedly a talent competition. And the simple... (Audience boos) ...and I like you Nicholas but the simple truth is that that was as flat as a pancake. (Audience boos, Nicholas nods) You know, I... I wish it could have been better. I love the song, you know, but it's like you and Louis have just given up!
Louis Walsh: (Shouts) What?... What in... given up on what?
Simon Cowell: Because he's walked out defeated.
Louis Walsh: Noooo.
Simon Cowell: And I mean I would be defeated if you looked after me, I suppose... but... (Even Louis laughs)
Louis Walsh: Simon!
Kate Thornton: Well Louis, what would you like to add?
Louis Walsh: I think Nicholas did his very, very best tonight. And at least he didn't copy the original.
Simon Cowell: Did he sing in tune?
Louis Walsh: He... a lot of it was in tune Simon.
Simon Cowell: How much?
Louis Walsh: A lot...
Sharon Osbourne: (Aside to Simon) A lot of it. (Cackles)
Simon Cowell: How much?...
Louis Walsh: I watched a lot of people on TV...
Simon Cowell: ...how much? (Sharon laughs openly)
Louis Walsh: ...last night...
Simon Cowell: ...how much was in tune?
Louis Walsh: I watched Mel C last night. He was a lot lot more in tune than Mel C on the show last night... A lot more. (Some applause)
Kate Thornton: Okay, thanks judges. (Turns to Nicholas) Ehm, Nicholas, I'm sure there's a lot you would like to say to the judges. Off you go...
Nicholas: Er... Well there's nothing really, at the end of the day that's their comments, that's what I'm here for. I appreciate it. I tried tonight, I tried my hardest and I just hope it was good enough for the people at home. (Cheers)
Kate Thornton: Well let's find out. Was it good enough for you? Are you going to give Nicholas your vote tonight? (Kate gives out the voting numbers etc.) ...but ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for Nicholas. (Nicholas kisses Kate on the cheek and exits)
