Andy Abraham - X Factor Final 7 Show

Andy Abraham
Song: Me And Mrs Jones  Check out 'Me And Mrs Jones' at Amazon.co.uk (Billy Paul  Check out 'Billy Paul' at Amazon.co.uk)

Smooth as velvet. Andy Abraham sings "Me and Mrs Jones" and his vocals really go well with the song.
Andy is singing Billy Paul's all time classic from the '70s, "Me & Mrs Jones".
It's a great song, but the original is so good that it's hard to measure up to. Andy measures! His soulful velvet tones are made for this song.

On the VT which played before he appeared on stage tonight his mentor Sharon said he lacked self-belief. Watching him work the stage with confidence, it's hard to believe Andy doubts his talent.

The judges certainly believe in him and he deservedly gets a hat-trick of thumbs pointing upwards.

Andy Abraham looks like he's got bags of self-belief belting out his Billy Paul number up on stage tonight.
Don't know about Mrs Jones, but that Andy Abraham definitely has a thing goin' on!

Panel-Bites:

Sharon Osbourne:  (Introduction) Now we have the velvet tones of our Andy.

Intro clip...

Sharon Osbourne:  My greatest worry about Andy is... is that he doesn't believe in himself

Andy:  I left school without any qualifications, and ah... I weren't told I'd amount to much but I love singing.

Sharon Osbourne:  Andy makes my job very easy because you just have to tell him once and it's done and he is so easy to work with, it's like a dream really.

Andy:  I find that she... she really knows my voice now... Although I'm not changing my world around me has changed dramatically. You know, I'm going off to Saville Row to pick up a suit for a performance, that kind of side of things is just a million miles from where I was. They say life begins at 40, well it's... it's exploded for me, you know what I mean, so... I mean it's wonderful.

Sharon Osbourne:  I have no doubt in my mind that he's gonna wow everyone again tonight. I just wish that he would believe that.

Andy sings...

Kate Thornton:  Okay, Simon? Your comment please?

Simon Cowell:  Andy, I absolutely loved that! Let me tell you why I loved it. And...and there is a positive thing to what happened last week, and that is now I'm seeing the contestants I think try a bit harder. There was a lot of passion in there. It was a throw-back to the kind of singer we used to see 30, 40 years ago...ahm... (Cheers) ...and er, it didn't come over as cabaret. It came over as a very cool authentic performance. I actually really liked it.

Andy:  (Smiling) Thank you. Thank you Simon.

Kate Thornton:  Thanks Simon. Louis?

Louis Walsh:  Andy, I mean I remember buying that record of Billy Paul 45 all those years ago and you did it just as good tonight. You are smooth, you're soulful, you are sensual and you deserve to be on that stage, boy. (Cheers)

Andy:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  Sharon, you're mentoring Andy... did he do it for you tonight?.

Sharon Osbourne:  He did, and I could tell Andy you just love singing that song. (Andy nods) I mean I could really feel it...

Andy:  Yeah really.

Sharon Osbourne:  ...you were having the best time, weren't you?

Andy:  Thank you. Yes! I certainly did. It was ehm, definitely a throw-back to when I was growing up so... yeah, I loved it, absolutely loved it.

Sharon Osbourne:  (Nods, smiling) Me too.

Louis Walsh:  (In background) Fantastic.

Kate Thornton:  Thanks judges. (Turns to Andy) Yet again, Andy, great, great comments, what would you like to say to the judges?

Andy:  I'd like to say ehm, that er, as much as the comments have been fantastic, I'm not just you know, just holding on to those... those comments, I'm working so much more harder you know, to even... to get higher comments so... and it's great the reaction from the fans... it's... it's fantastic. It just makes my job so much easier.. you know? (Big Cheers) So, thank you so much. Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  He says it makes his job easier but boy did he work hard for your votes tonight... (Kate gives out the voting numbers etc) ... but for now, ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for Andy. (Cheers as Andy exits with a thumbs-up for the audience.)
