Nicholas leaves, but this isn't the end of his road!

Nicholas Dorsett and The Conway Sisters polled the fewest public votes tonight, landing themselves in this week's bottom two.
Nicholas Dorsett makes a dignified exit from The X Factor tonight.
Upon hearing the result of tonight's public vote Laura Conway's face was streaming in tears. She and her sisters have been feeling particularly emotional after a tough week, which began last Saturday when Louis chose them to stay in preference to Maria Lawson. They received a hostile reaction from some members of the studio audience and were also on the receiving end of a media backlash during the week. The girls showed a lot of character tonight and delivered a very strong performance of Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time".
Nicholas' rendition of Shai's "If I Ever Fall In Love" was his weakest showing on the X Factor stage. His tuning was slightly off for most of the song; however his reprise version showed improvement. For The Conway Sisters the reverse was true, their overspilling emotions resulted in a less polished reprise rendition.
Tonight's judges' decision was a lot less controversial than last week's! Mentors Simon and Louis both voted for their own acts to stay. Sharon had the casting vote and after a long and deliberate (?) pause she named Nicholas as the act going home.
Nicholas accepted the decision with a calm nod whilst the Conway girls stood in shock, covering their faces. The North London lad admitted to Kate that he was disappointed but added "I'm just happy to have got this far and thank you to Louis for giving me the opportunity".

Louis paid tribute to his young protégé, "I think he's going to be a great, great star. He needs a little bit of time but I absolutely believe in him and I think we might work together in the future".

Louis is right, at just 18 Nicholas is a raw and still developing talent. He comes over as a lovely guy with a great attitude and of course he is great looking, with tons of teen appeal!

To put it another way, this isn't the end of Nicholas' road, it's just the beginning!
