Brenda Edwards sings 'Hearbreaker' on The X Factor Final 8 show.
Elegantly styled and classily coiffed, Brenda wows us again tonight with her fantastic stage presence and note perfect delivery. Brenda really feels the song, and makes us feel it too. All the stock compliments are true of Brenda tonight; she owns the stage, the camera loves her, she makes the song her own.
Brenda feels the music, and we're feeling it too!
It's compliments galore for Brenda tonight, but then Simon has to go and sour it by saying his 'gut feeling' is that she's not a recording artist! Louis tells Brenda he would buy her records... and you can add our names to that list too!

Panel-Bites:

Sharon Osbourne:  (Introduction) Yes, well this next lady, apart from singing great I think I should publish her diet, because I think I'd make a fortune from it. She looks fabulous! And it's Brenda!

Intro clip...

Brenda:  Last week Simon said that it was my best performance by far, but the worrying thing out of that, ehm, I said to Sharon is, you know, I really hope that I haven't peaked. I have to be able to grow.

Sharon Osbourne:  You're only as good as your last performance. That's the way it is now.

Brenda:  Both Simon and Louis have unfortunately lost half of their acts, and Sharon's category is still in tact. The probability is it may well be tonight that one of us leave. If I end up in the bottom two the only thing that I will be able to do is to perform like I've never performed ever before.

Sharon Osbourne:  The contest is at the stage where it's do or die basically. If you mess up you're out.

Brenda:  It's the survival of the fittest and (breaking into loud laughter) ...I'm just praying on being fit right now ... !

Brenda sings...

Kate Thornton:  Simon, your comments please?

Simon Cowell:  Brenda yeah, I think you are the most improved contestant from the very first time we saw you to the way you are now. (Cheers) It was very polished. Louis would love you, love you.

Louis Walsh:  Absolutely.

Simon Cowell:  Yeah, I knew that...

Louis Walsh:  I think she's fantastic!

Simon Cowell:  But... (To Louis) Haven't finished! (Continues) My... I have one problem. My only problem is, is that I think you will get work in the West End. I'm still not sure whether you are a recording artist. (Brenda keeps a smile fixed on her face and nods)

Sharon Osbourne:  ...And?...Hold on... Why is that?

Simon Cowell:  Gut feeling.

Someone in the audience shouts out 'she is!'

Sharon Osbourne:  Gut feeling of what?

Simon Cowell:  Just gut feeling.

Sharon Osbourne:  Well.

Brenda:  Thank you Simon.

Sharon Osbourne:  I'm... I'm somewhat confused Simon. For the first time ever, anywhere in the world there is a talent show for any age group... (Brenda is shown taking a few deep breaths) ...'Under 25', 'Over 25', 'Vocal Groups' which 'You!' created. And you don't think really... 'cause just say it. Be honest. That she won't get a recording contract because of her age.

Simon Cowell:  No, no, it's not the age.

Sharon Osbourne:  Yes it is.

Simon Cowell:  I think, I think Andy would sell records. (To Brenda) I'm still not convinced with that kind of song that you're gonna sell records.

Louis Walsh:  (Shaking his head) Oh Simon, I disagree.

Sharon Osbourne:  How can you say that? When Simon...

Louis Walsh:  I disagree.

Sharon Osbourne:  ...you created this show!

Kate Thornton:  Louis! Let's hear from you?

Louis Walsh:  I disag... Brenda! Brenda! ...

Sharon Osbourne:  ...How can you say that? How can you say that about her?

Louis Walsh:  ...Brenda is working so hard for this... I've never seen anybody give so much...

Sharon Osbourne:  No, that pisses me off.

Louis Walsh:  ...to the competition. (To Sharon) Shut up... Just a second. (With his arm around Sharon) I think she's great. I think she picked a great, great song. She deserves to be here. She... (Loud cheers from the audience) ...Brenda! You're fabulous! I would buy your records! (Turns to Sharon) You know!

Kate Thornton:  Okay, thanks judges. (Turns to Brenda) Brenda, let's hear from you? All kinds of comments there.

Brenda:  Yeah.

Kate Thornton:  What would you like to say back?

Brenda:  Mixed comments. Thank you to er, Louis and Sharon, I really appreciate your comments. To Simon, you know, you might not think that I've got a recording voice... All I can say to you is, you know, when the show's finished if you want to put me in the studio and you'll see that I am... you know, I can record as well! (Brenda's words get drowned out by the loud audience cheers)

Kate Thornton:  Were you happy with tonight's performance Brenda?

Brenda:  I was happy with tonight's performance. I was... I was the most nervous that I've ever been for all of the performance, because it goes up and it goes down...

Kate Thornton:  Well...

Brenda:  ...but you know it's, it's... I'm glad I got to come out here.

Kate Thornton:  ...Let's see if it bags those votes that you need my love?

Brenda:  Yeah. (Nods) Yeah.

Kate Thornton:  Are you gonna vote for Brenda? (Kate gives out the voting numbers etc.) ...but for now, ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it... for Brenda! (Brenda kisses Kate on the cheek and exits the stage)
