Simon Cowell: (Introduction) Okay, well you know who they are. Two very talented guys. It's Journey South.
Intro clip... Andy: It went very well on Saturday night. I mean it exceeded all our expectations and we really feel now that we have a very good chance to get to the final and possibly win.
Simon Cowell: This is a group... thank god... you could just push, push, push. Nothing fazes them at all. I think they did what we set out to do, which is to start putting them in the front pack now. So each week I have to set them an even bigger challenge.
Andy: We were a little bit unsure about the song when Simon first suggested it to us. Er, it is a big song. It's a big challenge for us.
Simon Cowell: This is the first time they don't want to sing a song I've suggested for them... and we had a few words and eventually I persuaded them to do it.
Andy: I'm just really worried that tonight, you know that we've got to try and top our performance last week. I think we peaked.
Carl: The biggest challenge is the guitar solo. It's one of the hardest solos I've ever had to learn. I just hope I can hold it together on the night.
Journey South sing...
Kate Thornton: Sharon? Your comments please?
Sharon Osbourne: Ah, yah, I like the song, I mean it got everybody up. It's a great 80s rock song that everyone knows. Ahm... Andy you seemed really comfortable. Carl, I still don't feel that you're a 100 per cent comfortable in your own body yet. You... you always look a bit frightened, and you know what? It's rock and roll. Just enjoy it! Enjoy what you do.
Carl: (Nods respectfully) All right.
Sharon Osbourne: And you needn't be afraid because you played really well with the guitar solo. (Big cheers) But just... you know what? This is music! You've got to lighten up and just enjoy it. There's your brother, up the other end, going for it, doing his Mick Jagger, and you're like a deer in the headlights...
Kate Thornton: Thank you Sharon.
Sharon Osbourne: ...relax!
Simon Cowell: ...Thank you Sharon.
Kate Thornton: Thanks Sharon. Louis!
Simon Cowell: Thank you Sharon.
Louis Walsh: Yeah. Guys, I'm a big fan of Journey South. I think he gave you a really (tongue twisted) tuff-tuck (correcting) tough task this week and I think you've pulled it off. It was a little bit karaoke here and there but I think you're great. (Boos for Louis) No, no! I...
Kate Thornton: Thanks Louis.
Louis Walsh: I think you're really, really good. (Still some boos) ...and I think you will make the final, and I do think you're gonna have a great, great career! (Cheers now!)
Kate Thornton: Thanks Louis. Simon? You're mentoring Journey South. What would you like to say?
Simon Cowell: Well you know, it's what I said in the VT clip... Which is the great thing about these guys are... is that they're prepared to take the risk. I mean we've given 'em U2 songs, we've given them now a Bon Jovi song. I was nervous, I've got to be honest with you. You know, during the week, thinking 'was this the right thing to do?', but I think it worked tonight... and I'll tell you why. Because actually I thought they had fun tonight. Ahm, and erm (Big Cheer) ...we're trying to show basically personality... that you can take risks... 'Louis?'... and that's what it's all about...
Kate Thornton: Thank you.
Simon Cowell: ...I thought you pulled it off. It was good.
Kate Thornton: Thanks Simon, thank you very much. (Turns to Journey South) Guys? Very briefly, anything you'd like to say back to those comments?
Andy: Yeah, we'd just like to say that you're right, we are thoroughly enjoying ourselves here, week in, week out... and that was a really risky song for us. It was probably our... our most toughest yet. You know, we were really nervous about it but hopefully if we get to come back next week we'll do the business for yer again (Cheers) ...and the public at home.
Kate Thornton: So, are you going to bring them back here next week? If you're going to you're going to have to vote for them... (Kate gives out the voting numbers etc.) ... Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for Journey South! (Andy kisses Kate as the boys head off stage)
