Louis Walsh: (Introduction) Next up we have a young girl with a great smile from Bradford. It's Chenai!
Intro clip... Chenai: My love of music probably came from my dad, because he was a musician. I can always remember... like standing in my dad's studio, you know pretending and wishing that I was like Whitney Houston. And I used to think "Ooh! You know, maybe I could be a pop star one day you know." (Chenai laughs)
Louis Walsh: It's a really emotional time for Chenai at the moment, and it's hard for her to be away from her family. She's getting a pretty rough time on the show from the other judges. I hope she performs brilliantly this week. I don't want to lose her.
Chenai: At the minute I'm feeling vulnerable. I'm feeling scared. I don't want to go this week. I don't want to go the next week. I don't want to go the week after... The X Factor is such a massive opportunity for me. There's not going to be anything else like this ever in my life.
Chenai sings...
Kate Thornton: Sharon, your comments please?
Sharon Osbourne: (Smiling) Hi Chenai!
Chenai: Hi Sharon.
Sharon Osbourne: HI... Uhm, ...really good song for you. It suited you very well.
Chenai: Thank you.
Sharon Osbourne: Very well done. But now... I'm just... I'm longing to see personality from you.
Chenai: Right.
Sharon Osbourne: You've got a great voice. We all know you can sing, and now I want to see like your fun factor. I want to see you act like a young girl, and I think now it's the time to see it. 'Cause you can sing, you've got a great voice.
Chenai: (Quietly) Thank you.
Sharon Osbourne: You and I have got history together! (Chenai laughs) ...And I want to see you blossom. I need to see your personality now... definitely, and I think something younger to sing too.
Chenai: Yeah. Okay.
Kate Thornton: Thanks Sharon. Simon?
Simon Cowell: Uhm. I kind of agree with Sharon actually. It was... you know at this point you want people to come out onto this stage with a... with... to want to win. And that is what I call a play safe performance, and it had the equivalent of eating Chinese food, insomuch as... (Some laughter) ...you sort of long for something afterwards. (Chenai pulls a bemused but smiling face) You know, there's nothing memorable about it and Sharon hit the nail on the head which is, you know you're 18, 19 years old, whereas Brenda comes out at 36, fun, energy... and it's exciting. You come out at 19 and sort of sent me to sleep. (Audience boos)
Chenai: (Pulls another bemused face, but still smiles)
Simon Cowell: I'm right!
Audience: Noooo! Louis Walsh: Oh no you're not.
Simon Cowell: Oh yes I am Louis!
Louis Walsh: (Shaking his head) Oh no you're not.
Kate Thornton: Thank you very much Simon. Louis?
Louis Walsh: I... Chenai, I think you made the song your own.
Simon Cowell: No Louis.
Louis Walsh: I mean everybody has recorded that song...
Simon Cowell: Louis.
Louis Walsh: ...and I think... Ya...
Simon Cowell: No... (Still chipping away, off-mike.)
Louis Walsh: I think the public are gonna like you, and if you put Simon to sleep I think that's a great thing! (Laughter)
Chenai: I keep trying to see his head nodding off on the table. I saw him and he was still watching so... at least he hasn't nodded off.
Louis Walsh: No, no... no, no. He's breaking in his new teeth... He's breaking in his new teeth, have a good look! (Lots of laughter)
Simon Cowell: (Shows off his new pearly whites with a ring of confidence! Suddenly there's a ding! Simon laughs uncontrollably, rolling in his chair.)
Louis Walsh: (Devilishly points to Simon) Look!
Kate Thornton: So Chenai, we've heard all sorts from Simon tonight, with his new teeth.
Chenai: Yeah. (Laughs)
Kate Thornton: Er, what would you like to say back? He compared you to a Chinese takeaway! (Laughter. Simon is still out of control!)
Chenai: Erm, I don't really know how to take that to be honest. Erm, I like Chinese takeaways! (Cheers.)
Kate Thornton: I do! (More cheers) Were you happy with your overall comments tonight Chenai?
Chenai: Yeah. I was yeah. Uhm, Sharon and Louis, you know, I think know what I'm all about and... do you know what I mean?... (Smiling) ...But Simon thinks I'm about Chinese takeaways! So... cheers! (Laughs)
Kate Thornton: (Grinning) Okay. Thank you very much Chenai. (To camera) Are you going to give Chenai your vote tonight? Do you fancy a takeaway?... (Kate announces the voting numbers etc.) ...Look he's flashing you those new teeth. He likes you really! Ladies and gentlemen it's Chenai!
We see a shot of Simon with his lips very tightly sealed! Chenai thanks Kate and walks off wearing a happy grin.
