Andy Abraham sings 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' on The X Factor Final 9 show.
Andy's mum recently passed away and Sharon tells us that this week he's been over in Grenada arranging and attending her funeral. He's determined to continue giving this contest his best shot though, not least because he knows his mum wouldn't want him to quit.
Tonight he's singing Can't Take My Eyes Off You, made famous by Andy Williams (more recently reprised as a duet with Denise Van Outen). It's a fine arrangement matched by the perfect vocal.
Andy is sitting up on the stage steps as he begins the number in a casual tempo. The beat livens up as he rises up and paces wistfully down stage. Soon he's belting his vocal on full throttle and pumping his fist in the air, generating feel good vibrations across the swaying audience. Andy is terrific especially considering he has had very little rehearsal time this week.

Louis calls it a 'polished performance', Simon agrees that Andy has the likeability factor and is also impressed with his 'get on with it' attitude.

The most important opinion tonight naturally comes from Andy's mentor and the most popular expert on TV, Sharon Osbourne! Naturally she loves him!

Andy enjoys it when his mentor Sharon ribs Simon about her superior 'expert' status!

Panel-Bites:

Sharon Osbourne:  (Introduction) I tell you something, when the going gets tough the tough get going, and that's very true for our Andy.

Intro clip...

Andy:  I'm working so hard to erm... I dunno, to kind of live up to expectations... and things are kind of like, very difficult at the moment.

Sharon Osbourne:  For Andy, he's had a lot on his plate. I mean with his mum passing away. All week he's been in Grenada taking care of arrangements for his mother.

Andy:  She was my best supporter. If I decided that I've... you know that I was gonna give up I don't think my mum would be very happy about that.

Sharon Osbourne:  He's got a lot on his plate, but you know what? He's gonna deliver.

Andy:  Just keep on going, keep on going... and kind of just do everybody proud, you know.

Andy sings...

Kate Thornton:  Louis? Your comments please?

Louis Walsh:  Andy, it's the fourth week in. You always deliver. That was a really, really polished performance and you just get better week by week and everybody likes you. You have the likeability factor. (Cheers)

Kate Thornton:  Thanks Louis! Simon?

Simon Cowell:  Ah, I think Louis' got a point. I think you have got the likeability factor... and you know what Andy? You... I mean we all know you've had a really, really tough time the last 3 or 4 weeks and you've stood up here week by... week on week, as a man you've taken whatever criticism. There's no whining which we're hearing from other contestants. You just get on with it. You're grateful for the opportunity. You're giving it a 1000 per cent. So, thank god you're still in the competition. (Cheers)

Andy:  (Smiling) Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  Thank you Simon. Sharon, you're Andy's mentor. Has he done you proud again tonight?

Sharon Osbourne:  (Smiling) Course he has. Mrs O is very proud of you Andy.

Andy:  Thank you. Thank you.

Sharon Osbourne:  I love you!

Andy:  Thank you so much.

Kate Thornton:  Pleased with his performance tonight Sharon?

Sharon Osbourne:  Ya, I think that the other judges, who are not 'experts' at this, (Laughter) have done quite well. They've done extremely well with their comments so far.

Simon Cowell:  (Leans away) ...Becoming boring.

Sharon Osbourne:  Sorry.

Andy:  Sharon, milk it!

Kate Thornton:  (Grinning) Thank you very much judges. (To Andy) So you've... you've heard some expert opinions there Andy. What would you like to say back to the judges?

Andy:  (Lets out a laugh) I'd like to say ehm, yer it has been a hard week. I think The X Factor has kind of taught me a lot of things about myself. And plus the general public and the fans. The fans have been absolutely wonderful... (Cheers) ...and it's, you know, it's made it so much easier for me to... to concentrate on what I have to do, and that's perform for them, and Simon, and Louis and Sharon. (Cheers)

Kate Thornton:  Thank you very much. You did a great job tonight. So, if you think Andy is your man give him your vote... (Kate announces the voting numbers etc.) ...Well done Andy.

Andy:  Thank you very much.

Kate Thornton:  Let's hear it for Andy.

Andy:  (Waving as he exits) Thank you very much!
