Song: Let's Get It On  Check out 'Let's Get It On' at Amazon.co.uk (Marvin Gaye  Check out 'Marvin Gaye' at Amazon.co.uk)

The panel seem to feel that Nicholas Dorsett definitely got it on during his performance of Marvin's "Let's Get It On".
Louis Walsh is really testing Nicholas this week by giving him a song from soul king Marvin Gaye's collection. The song is "Let's get it on" and Nicholas does just that!
Straight from the off, Nicholas is so good he gets booed. No not nasty boos, these are boos of appreciation, trust me country bumpkins, it's an urban thing!
He is totally in the groove, at one with the music, mind, body and soul. If the song went on any longer Nicholas would probably be transported to another dimension, and he'd take the baying, booing audience with him.
In short it's a remarkable performance. Like last week, he isn't technically perfect, but he sure is soulful!
The panel prove that they actually have souls too. They love the performance, and as you may have guessed already, so do we!

Panel-Bites:

Louis Walsh:  (Introduction) He's young, he's cool, he's talented. It's Nicholas.

Intro clip...

Nicholas:  As soon I heard Kate say "It's Nicholas!", like I was thinking "Okay, this is it, this is what I worked for. Right, let's go out and tear the place down." A couple of months ago I was just anybody just walking on the road. People just walk past me and not even acknowledge me. And now they're picking up the phone to vote for me, so it's weird, definitely weird. (Laughs)

Louis Walsh:  I think Nicholas has a really, really great talent. It's almost like a rough diamond. It's unpolished. But erm, I don't think he performed as good as he should or could have last Saturday. I've given him a really tough song this week and I hope he nails it because I know we haven't seen the best of Nicholas yet.

Nicholas:  My life is changing. Sometimes I do just stand and stop and think to myself like, whoaaa, like you have done something major, you have done something... so, this is just the beginning.

Nicholas sings...

Kate Thornton:  Simon, your comments please?

Simon Cowell:  Nicholas, I have to tell you... for me, so far, best performance of the night.

Nicholas:  (Bows and smiles) Thank you. (Crowd cheer loudly)

Simon Cowell:  That was... you know I have to say this Nicholas, I... I haven't spotted this before. I think you're special. Ehm, you know it was cool, it was...it was different and without sounding big-headed, I sort of want to take part of the credit for what happened this week because you did listen to me and chose a cooler song, it wasn't so old fashioned. You look great, you sound great, you obviously didn't listen to Louis.... fantastic.

Louis Walsh:  Yes he did! (Smiles)

Kate Thornton:  Thank you Simon. Sharon?

Sharon Osbourne:  Yeah, Nicholas, this is really frustrating 'cause everybody is so good but you're especially good tonight. It's getting like a love-fest! You are really, you are special, Simon for once is right actually, you are very special.

Nicholas:  Thank you very much.

Kate Thornton:  Thank you very much. Louis?

Louis Walsh:  Nicholas... You know Nicholas I'm really, really glad that I picked you because you're shining. Easily the best live performance tonight and to sing a Marvin Gaye song like you did, it's almost impossible. It was your own. I think you're going to be a big, big star.

Nicholas:  Thank you very much.

Simon Cowell:  (Nods in agreement)

Kate Thornton:  Thank you very much judges. Wow, Nicholas! What on earth do you say to that?

Nicholas:  What can I say but... (nodding to the panel) ...thank you very much, and I hope I just keep impressing you and I hope people do vote me through and (Nicholas gets drowned out by the applause)...

Kate Thornton:  Listen, praise indeed tonight. Simon Cowell said you are very special. Are you feeling special right now?

Nicholas:  (Smiling) Yeah! Yes, very special. Feeling very special right now. (More cheers)

Kate Thornton:  (Patting Nicholas' back) Ohh yes, you feel special to me too! (Laughs)

Simon Cowell:  Nicholas choose your own songs! Choose your own songs.

Kate Thornton:  So, if you want to vote for Nicholas... (Gives out phone numbers etc) ... okay, ladies and gents, let's hear it for Nicholas! (Nicholas exits)
