It's Chico time!
Chico was been a bit down after last week's performance, which landed him in the precarious bottom 2 spot. On last Wednesday's Xtra Factor 24/7 we saw another more reflective side to Chico. Simon's comments together with some less than complimentary press coverage made him wonder whether he should carry on.
Vocal coach Mark Hudson has done a good job convincing him he should, and although Sharon jokes that he's the "black sheep" of the contest he gets a great reception from the studio audience. One of the audience banners featured proclaims "It's Chico Time!" and it's held by none other than last week's losing act the Addictiv Ladies!
It has to be said that this week Chico's performance is much better. The Wild Cherry number is really suited to his voice and his energetic style. His dancing is impressive, especially the backwards shuffle he performs during the instumental section.

Before closing out his set, he does some Ryan Chandler style scissor splits and on the closing beat he flings his trilby into the excited studio audience. Tonight Chico does it with style.

It's a different story for Chico this week. Sharon still loves him, Louis praises his dance moves and most importantly admits to looking forward to the performance and tells him The X Factor might be dull without him!

Chico's gast is flabbered! He's proved that although he definitely has a sense of humour he is not a joke!

Chico Slimani is much happier with this week's set of comments from the panel!

Panel-Bites:

Sharon Osbourne:  (Introduction) Well, next one up is somebody who is definitely the black sheep of The X Factor

Simon Cowell:  (Leans in close to Sharon with a grin on his face)

Sharon Osbourne:  But guys, he's really not that bad! (Audience laughter, Sharon looks like she is about to laugh)

Simon Cowell:  (Grinning) I can't wait for this!

Sharon Osbourne:  Please let's hear it for Chico.

Intro clip...

Sharon Osbourne:  The public are just not getting him. Last Saturday has really knocked him.

Chico:  The first time in a very, very long time I feel low, I feel down. I'm not a joke. What I've worked so hard for was just about to be taken away from me. I'm not ashamed to say I was scared.

Sharon Osbourne:  I don't think anybody's giving him a chance, and especially with Simon.

Chico:  Simon's comments, you know, really, really hurt me.

Sharon Osbourne:  Everybody seems to think that Chico loves himself. That's not the case, he just loves life.

Chico:  I just wanna just get out there and just for him (Simon) to go "that was okay". You know, he's never going to say I'm brilliant but just to go "You know what? That wasn't bad Chico".

Chico sings...

Kate Thornton:  (Jokey) Louis! Say what!

Louis Walsh:  Chico you make everybody laugh, you're very entertaining, you're a great, great showman. You deserve to be in the show. You're not the best singer like I said the last week, but you're a great, great dancer and there's a lot of people in the charts who can't sing anyway so you deserve your place here. (Cheers) I like you.

Kate Thornton:  Thanks Louis! Simon?

Simon Cowell:  I disagree, I think Girls Aloud 'can' sing. (Laughter, Louis looks shocked) Okay... Chico, I have to say something and this is going to sound odd. For some strange reason I was looking forward to your performance tonight. (Laughter and cheers, Chico smiles broadly) Uhm, I think there's a lot of people at home are going to be thinking "what the hell is going on?". Having said that, er... you've taken a lot of stick, backstage you're a nice guy, you're not sulking, you are taking it seriously... uhm, and I think maybe The X Factor would be dull without you. (Big cheers)

Chico:  (Claps Simon's comments) Wow. Wow.

Kate Thornton:  Thank you Simon. Sharon?

Simon Cowell:  I'm not saying you're a great singer... all right? I'm not saying that you're a great singer but (Does a bottom lip pout!) ...It was sort of entertaining. (Chico laughs)

Sharon Osbourne:  (Throws her head back and laughs. Some ladies in the audience chant "Chico! Chico! Chico!") Well Chico, ehm, I know you've had a really tough week. You've had a lot to contend with, and y'know, I... I don't really like the fact that you're getting more press than me right now (Chico laughs) ... but I will put up with it, I will! (Laughs) I think you did really good tonight... really did. And you're a great showman and you do take this seriously and now you see Simon realises that...

Simon Cowell:  No... well, sort of. (Looks at Sharon) Let's not get carried away here. (Laughs)

Kate Thornton:  Thank you very much judges, thank you. (Turns to Chico) So Chico? You're getting there! He... he kind of likes you. What would you like to say back to the judges?

Chico:  Er I'm... You know what? I was going to say 'flabbergasted' but right now my gast is flabbered! (Simon & audience laugh) Simon! You know, for you to say "that was all right" it means the world and it's brother to me! (Cheers) You know, it's been a hard week, I've been down, I almost chucked it in and thanks to Mark... the beautiful Mark and the lovely Sharon and the grace of god I am here, and you know what? I'm willing to work... I'm gonna give my bestest... and you know what Simon? Love me or hate me, you cannot take this away from me and you cannot deny me. And all I ...

Kate Thornton:  Thank you Chico?

Chico:  ...can say is this.

Kate Thornton:  Go on.

Chico:  (Shouts to the audience) What time is it?

Audience: Chico time!

Chico:  (Shouts) What time is it?

Audience: Chico time! (The judges roll around laughing in their seats)

Chico:  (Grinning) Love you, thank you very much.

Kate Thornton:  (Grabs Chico's hand) Hold on, stay where you are. Okay, if it really is time for Chico in your world you can vote for him... (Gives out the numbers etc)... Chico you're dismissed! Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it, it's Chico! (Chico exits, doing the splits on the way!)
