Chenai Zinyuku enjoys the audience cheers at the end of her X Factor "Final 11" performance.
Chenai looks stunning tonight on The X Factor stage. Her hair flows freely and her style is casual but sexy.
Her vocal performance is competent enough but there are no moments of passion or vocal intensity to make this week's performance stand out. Also her vocal sounded a bit nasal during parts of the song.

So this week we agree with Simon's comment that Chenai didn't sound great, but we don't agree with his other comments. Chenai appeared perfectly confident to us, and not at all "desperate".

The remarks seem to knock her confidence a little, and tears aren't far away. Luckily auntie Kate is on hand to cheer Chenai up, and hopefully she will make it back next week with her confidence and her vocal fully restored!

Kate Thornton puts a comforting arm around Chenai Zinyuku who is clearly upset by Simon Cowell's critical comments after she sang Candi Staton's "Young Hearts Run Free".

Panel-Bites:

Louis Walsh:  (Introduction) We have a young girl from Bradford. Last year she tried to get on The X Factor, she didn't get through ... (Louis looks sideways at Mrs O) Sharon! ...but she's back this year with a vengeance. All she wants to do is be given a chance. She's young, she's gorgeous... it's Chenai!

Intro clip...

Chenai:  Seeing the crowd for the first time was just like mindblowing. It was such an overwhelming feeling I don't think I can explain just how overwhelming it was. You know, I've worked so hard for it and to get up there and do it was just like... it was a dream come true.

Louis Walsh:  When I saw Chenai on Saturday I just thought (Shakes his head)... I was really, really proud of her because she's worked so hard for it and she deserves to be there and I was just really, really emotional for her and I hope she goes a long way.

Chenai:  It means everything to me. This is the only thing in my life now that I've got to concentrate on. Ehm, there's nothing else... I got a taste of it and I definitely know now that it's what I want to do.

Chenai sings...

Kate Thornton:  Sharon, your comments please?

Sharon Osbourne:  Chenai, what a long way you've come in just a week. (Chenai laughs) Unbelievable. You look tremendous, you sound fantastic...

Chenai:  Thank you.

Sharon Osbourne:  You've really come a long way in just a week...

Chenai:  (Big smile) Thank you Sharon. (Cheers)

Sharon Osbourne:  Really, really good... Well done.

Kate Thornton:  Thanks Sharon. Simon?

Simon Cowell:  I think you look great, I don't think you sounded great tonight to be honest with you. (Boos) I don't. You know I thought you looked panicked to be honest with you. Very nervous. It was verging at the end almost like a desperate performance. Ehm, I didn't see any confidence... I didn't feel any major reason to vote for you either, if I was watching at home, it was just manic... an ordinary vocal...

Sharon Osbourne:  (Laughs incredulously)

Louis Walsh:  You... hello! Simon...

Simon Cowell:  (Pouts his bottom lip out)

Chenai:  I was more confident than I've ever, ever been. That performance, right here, right now was the most confidence I've ever, ever had...

Simon Cowell:  Didn't show...

Chenai:  ...in this whole competition.

Simon Cowell:  (To Louis) Louis... you thought so? (To Sharon) You thought she looked confident?

Sharon Osbourne:  (To Simon) Yes.

Simon Cowell:  You thought she looked confident? (Mulls things over with his bottom lip sticking out)

Kate Thornton:  Louis! Louis, you're Chenai's mentor. Let's hear from you?

Louis Walsh:  He is so grumpy tonight...

Simon Cowell:  No I'm not.

Louis Walsh:  ...he's been like this all day!

Sharon Osbourne:  He must have been watching the wrong girl. He was watching the wrong girl.

Louis Walsh:  Absolutely. What is wrong with you?

Simon Cowell:  I just thought... I'm just being honest that's all.

Louis Walsh:  She is nervous of course she is... she's young! Chenai... I know what she's been through Simon. I've been with her all day. She... this girl wants this so badly...

Simon Cowell:  What? What's she been through that other people haven't been through today?

Sharon Osbourne:  (Gasps in horror) Below the belt!

Simon Cowell:  No, no, I'm being serious.

Louis Walsh:  You are unbelievable... Chenai.

Simon Cowell:  No everyone's in the same boat!

Louis Walsh:  I am very proud of you! (Cheers)

Chenai:  (Looking emotional) Thank you Louis.

Louis Walsh:  You are really, really good. You know... I just... you know you look fantastic, so much different from last week, and you deserve your place on that stage. I hope everybody in Bradford votes for you tonight.

Chenai:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  Thank you judges. (Cheers. Kate turns to Chenai) You've heard what they've had to say.

Chenai:  (Nods) Yep.

Kate Thornton:  Anything you'd like to say back?

Chenai:  I think I said it all. I... (Kate rubs her shoulder for comfort, Chenai sounds increasingly emotional as she speaks) I come on this stage tonight comfortable with my performance and I stood here and I performed it...(Kate puts her arm around Chenai) ...and I thought that was like the most confidence I've ever, ever had on this stage... ever! (Chenai looks tearful but holds it together)

Kate Thornton:  Well I think that both Sharon and Louis are agreeing with you on that Chenai.

Chenai:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  You're happy with your performance?

Chenai:  Yep, I am. (Smiles)

Kate Thornton:  All we need now is for people to pick up those phones and vote for you... (Kate gives out the numbers, etc) ...(Gives Chenai a friendly squeeze) You've been very, very courageous tonight Chenai...

Chenai:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  ...with your back chat. (Chenai smiles) Let's hear it for her? Chenai! (Chenai exits)
