Andy Abraham is over the moon to be performing on The X Factor and hopes he's made his family proud. He surely has!
Andy Abraham has the final spot on tonight's final 12 show. They say good things come to those who wait, and Andy's performance of The Greatest Love Of All is definitely worth the near 90 minute wait!

Andy has the audience in his thrall as soon as he opens his mouth. His voice is richly textured, resonant and smooth like velvet. He's looking very smooth too, in his tailor fitted black suit, black shirt and tie.

Simon and Louis abandon all rivalries and praise Andy like he was one of their own. Indeed, Simon even admits he wishes Andy was in his group! Sharon thinks her 41-year-old protégé is 'brilliant' and praises him for the way he has coped with the tough days leading up to the final.

Andy Abraham sings a great version of George Benson's "The Greatest Love Of All".

Commendably avoiding any chance of a sympathy vote Sharon doesn't elaborate further. Sadly, Andy's mum passed away only a couple of weeks ago. Clearly the preparation for tonight can't have been easy for him or his family, but his performance tonight will certainly have made all of them very proud.

Panel-Bites:

Sharon Osbourne:  (Introduction) The next guy who's going to perform for you... There's nothing I can say about him other than he is definitely the coolest man in the UK. Please let's hear it for Andy!

Intro clip...

Andy:  41 years of age, dad of 2 and a bin man. This doesn't happen all the time for somebody like me.

Sharon Osbourne:  He has been tagged, you know 'The Bin Man' and he's definitely not here on a sympathy vote from me. You look at people like Lionel Ritchie and you look at Andy. He's got just as much talent.

Andy:  You do your mundane jobs... you have to do that. That's to support your family, but this is beyond my wildest dreams. I feel like I'm a star already so I know I've got to go up there and be a star, for me and my family.

Andy sings...

Kate Thornton:  Thank you. Louis?

Louis Walsh:  All I can say Andy is it's amazing that somebody like you is unsigned by a record company. You're one of the best singers I've heard in a long, long time. You are... you're very likeable, you made the song your own and you've just got such a powerful voice. Fantastic.

Kate Thornton:  Simon?

Simon Cowell:  (Smiling) Oh Andy, I wish I was looking after you. (Cheers) I really do. You know Andy, you'd have to be a robot not to feel any emotion when you perform. I mean it's not just the fact that you're a good singer it's your story, you know, and you represent every working guy in this country and this is what this is all about. (Big cheers) You know, you are literally... it sounds corny... but you are the heart and soul of this competition. Good luck to you.

Andy:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  Sharon? You put Andy here tonight, what would you like to say to him?

Sharon Osbourne:  Just that, Andy, I am so proud of you. And I know you've had a really tough last 10 days and you came through. You're brilliant. I'm so proud of you.

Andy:  Thank you.

Sharon Osbourne:  And I know your family are too.

Andy:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  Thank you very much judges. (Kate walks over to Andy, centre stage. Andy greets her with a kiss on the cheek.) Well Andy I don't know if you saw, but you actually had a standing ovation by halfway through that number, in the studio tonight. (Cheers) And those comments to back it up. How are you feeling?

Andy:  I'm over the moon. Ehm, you know it's... (Shrugs) I dunno it's everything's a little bit surreal, do you know what I mean. And to be in the house, you know to be tailor fitted and everything... and you know, it's just rags to riches it feels like. Do you know what I mean?

Kate Thornton:  Even Simon Cowell wants you in his category. Boy did you do good tonight! And I know, you've got 2 kids at home... I know that they're going to be very proud of you this evening Andy.

Andy:  Yeah, I'm hoping they're really proud.

Kate Thornton:  You are one daddy cool, hey?

Andy:  I hope they're really proud.

Kate Thornton:  Okay, ladies and gentlemen, it's Andy! Thank you very much.
