4Tune - Clockwise from top-left: Mike Hannides, Anthony Hannides, Simon Vitsaides and Phil Kemish.
4Tune, that's Phil Kemish 21, Anthony Hannides (18), Mike Hannides (21) and Simon Vitsaides (22) have worked hard to make it here tonight after coming within a whisker of the finals last year when they made it into Louis Walsh's top 5 acts, but not his top 3.
Ten years of determination and talent pay off as the guys step out to sing live before the nation for the very first time. They've chosen the popular Backstreet Boys number "I Want It That Way" and make no mistake 4Tune are hoping to go all the way!
They do a great job, Mike's lead vocal is strong and the 4Tune harmonies are right on the money.

Faye Sawyer's clean cut and casual styling choices complement the band's image. So do their smiles... Yes Simon's repeated message that they need to look like they're enjoying their singing seems to be getting through at last!

Mentor Simon clearly appreciates the potential of the group. He describes their performance as "terrific" and tells the guys that he's proud of them.

The 4Tune boys may be all smiles but Sharon Osbourne still doesn't think they look like they're having enough fun!
Some people are harder to please though; notably Sharon and Louis!
Despite the guys' smiles Sharon believes that only Phil really seems to be 'having a blast'. She tells his band mates to relax and act their age.
Louis tells 4Tune that he still doesn't think they are 'ready for it' and even recommends vocal coaching! Kate gives Phil the last word on the matter though, "I don't think he understood us last year and I don't think he gets us this year, to be honest with you"!

Panel-Bites:

Simon Cowell:  (Introduction) Well I'm very happy to introduce 4 boys who Louis last year did not think were good enough for the competition, (Louis nods) who hopefully are here to prove him wrong. Ladies and gentlemen 4Tune.

Intro clip...

Phil:  It's amazing to think that you know, 10 years ago we were singing in each other's bedrooms, you know dreaming about one day being on stage. It's been an incredible journey for us. Now, this Saturday we're going to be singing in front of millions of people. That's just amazing.

Simon Cowell:  For me, I would say, the most talented group of individuals I've ever seen in this type of competition. Their dedication, their work ethic. Their belief, their ambition... 'unbelieveable'!

Phil:  We have an opportunity to touch people by our music. That's a gift.

Mike:  When we go out on Saturday night we know what we've gotta do.

4Tune sing...

Kate Thornton:  Louis, your comments please?

Louis Walsh:  Eh, Simon said I didn't pick the boys last year. I didn't because I didn't think they were ready for it last year. I mean, I still don't think you're ready for it boys. (Boos from audience) I think you're almost... (More boos) I think you're almost there. You did a Backstreet Boys which was... which is a bit dangerous because you're not as good as the Backstreet Boys, and you definitely need some more vocal coaching. (More boos) That's what I think.

Kate Thornton:  Okay, Sharon?

Sharon Osbourne:  Okay guys. (Points) What's your name mister?

Phil:  Phil.

Sharon Osbourne:  Sorry?

Phil:  Phil.

Sharon Osbourne:  Uh... well you see 'Phil' looks relaxed, he looks like he's having a blast up there. And the other three, you've got to follow Phil because that was the one thing you know. Relax, enjoy it, have a blast, act your age. You're not quite men yet, so don't act like big old machos. Be what you are, which is great... and enjoy it. Let's see some more... you know like 'loving it' next week. Right?

Phil:  Thank you.

Sharon Osbourne:  What's it?... What are your names? Phil?

Anthony:  Anthony.

Mike:  Mike.

Simon:  And Simon.

Sharon Osbourne:  (Diva-speak) Fabulous! (4Tune laugh; big cheers from the audience)

Kate Thornton:  Simon, 4Tune are your act. How would you judge that performance?

Simon Cowell:  You know I really wanted them in the competition last week because you know to have a group like you in a competion like this makes it that much more exciting. Er, you're very nice, down to earth guys. You've been together from the age of 10, and I know how important this means to you. Once again, I think we've seen a small part of what you're capable of doing. If you stay in the competition you're going to make it a much better competition. I thought you did terrific tonight. I'm very proud of you guys.

4Tune:  Thank you very much.

Kate Thornton:  Okay, thank you judges. (Kate joins 4Tune centre stage) Boys! (Puts her arm around Phil)

Phil:  Hello Kate.

Kate Thornton:  A mixed bag of comments tonight. There's some great comments in there.

Phil:  Mmm-hmm.

Kate Thornton:  I think everybody agreed that you sang very well tonight. Were you happy with your vocals?

Phil:  Yeah I was happy. (4Tune boys nod)

Anthony:  Yeah.

Simon:  Yep.

Kate Thornton:  Were you happy with your comments?

Phil:  Some of them. (The boys laugh) ...

Kate Thornton:  Louis says you're not ready. You guys have been singing together since you were 10.

Phil:  Mmm.

Kate Thornton:  Ya? If you're not ready now? (Kate pulls a comedy face)

Phil:  Louis can have his opinion, do you know what I mean? I don't think he understood us last year and I don't think he gets us this year, to be honest with you. (Big cheers)

Kate Thornton:  You think you're ready?

Phil:  I think we're ready.

Kate Thornton:  Yeah.

Phil:  Yeah, that's right.

Kate Thornton:  Well, importantly, do you feel you've done enough to secure the votes you need to be back here next Saturday?

Phil:  Fingers crossed, that's all I can say.

Kate Thornton:  Well good luck boys.

4Tune:  Thank you.

Kate Thornton:  Let's hear it for 4Tune.
