Tabby Callaghan - The X Factor (Final 3 Show)

Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne's hubby was in the audience last week to witness nerves getting to Tabby during his performance of 'More Than Words'. During the week Ozzy suggested that performing in front of a crowd of 20,000 might be a good cure!
Not the easiest thing to sort out in a matter of days, unless you're a rock legend like Ozzy that is. He arranges for himself and Tabby to warm the crowd up at Watford FC's Vicarage Road ground during half time.
Tabby Callaghan shows off his beloved guitar to The X Factor audience during the final 3 show.
Tabby wants to know if Ozzy has done anything like this before. "I invented it!" boasts Ozzy cheekily.
Just before he goes out Tabby admits to being "Totally, totally nervous!"
He doesn't look totally nervous on the pitch singing U2's '(Pride) In The Name Of Love'... and it seemed to do the trick because Watford beat Portsmouth 3-0 in their Carling Cup tie that night!
After Vicarage Road, tonight's studio audience probably seems like a genteel gathering at the vicarage!
Tabby's first song tonight is the same U2 number, and Tabby does himself proud. It's a great arrangement with another fantastic guitar interlude. Tabby sings the last line solo, bellowing out the question 'What more in the name of love?'.
Tabby Callaghan gets down with it, singing the U2 classic '(Pride) In The Name Of Love'.
Later on a guitarless Tabby bows to the frenzied studio audience before performing his second song of the night, Rod Stewart's 'Sailing'.
Whilst Tabby's gravelly tones really suit this song, he doesn't inject as much passion and conviction into this performance as he did earlier on with the U2 anthem. Suddenly he is joined by the city of Norwich pipe band who spill onstage in formation.
It's a showbiz flourish which seems to to ease Tabby's nerves a little.
"Fair play" are Kate Thornton's first words as she greets Tabby. Will panelists Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh agree?

Kate: Okay, Tabby it's time for the judges verdict. (shouting from the audience) Nice and quiet please, thank you guys. Simon Cowell.

Simon: Erm, (he has a smirk on his face) I'm not sure the pipers were necessary.

Sharon: Low dig! Low dig! Lowwww low dig!... You see we're trying to make good TV entertainment. This is showbiz! (cheers)

Kate: Simon, what did you think of Tabby's two performances tonight please?

Simon: Personally I thought the first song was better than the second, erm... (some jeers and whistles from the audience). I did, I did. Because it was a more honest performance, the first one. (groans)

Kate: But you liked what Tabby did tonight?

Simon: Yes, very much! (cheers)

Kate: Great! Louis?

Louis: Kate, I mean Tabby performed two totally different songs. He did a rock song. He did a great job Simon. He didn't just sing it, he performed it. Y'know and you've used choirs in the past. He's entitled to use a band. And Kate! He has the X Factor. He's going to have a great career. He's a total performer. You know and he's not like the usual run of the mill people we get on these shows.

Simon: Why don't you just suck up for a change Louis?

Louis: I think he's great! I think he's really good. That's all!

Sharon: (sounding shocked!) Didn't he swear!

Kate: No he said 'suck'.

Sharon: Oooh! (laughter)

Simon: With an 's' sweetheart.

Sharon: Thank goodness for that!

Kate: Simon's accused Louis of sucking up. It sounds to me like Louis is just a bit of a fan.

Louis: I know him. I think he's a really good performer! (applause)

Kate: Okay, Sharon, how did Tabby do for you tonight? (turns her head to Simon and Louis) Thank you guys. (audience is still cheering) ...(to Sharon) Are you pleased with Tabby's performance?

Sharon: I'm ecstatic! ...with Tabby's performance tonight! (cheers) ...because...because I think we all know, we've all seen him grow over the weeks and he's special. He's got the x factor. (To the audience) Who would buy his CD? I wanna know. (Lots of cheers)

Kate: Thank you. (to Tabby) The lines are open right now, have you done enough to be here next Saturday at the final?

Tabby: (takes a deep breath) I put my heart and soul into it Kate, y'know, and I can't do any more than that. You know, erm, I worked hard all week at these songs. Erm, d'you know I've had a couple of problems with me throat and stuff like that...

Sharon: (interrupts) No don't start that.

Tabby: (laughs nervously)

Sharon: That's the Steve line...c'mon. (with a disapproving look on her face) Move on...

Audience: (Whoos and Boos - Simon begins smirking again!)

Kate: (drowned out for the most part by the audience reaction) Okay Sharon ...(muffled)... Ladies and Gentlemen let's hear it for Sharon and Tabby!

Tabby Callaghan's Results Show Reprise

Sharon Osbourne chooses the U2 number '(Pride) In The Name Of Love' for Tabby to sing for a second time tonight.

After the performance he has a quick chat with Kate Thornton...

Kate: The voting is so, so tight tonight Tabby. You need every vote. Why should the public vote for you?

Tabby: Kate, this is all I've wanted to do all my life. I put my whole life into it. I'm not looking for an easy way up, or an easy way into this. All I'm asking for is "just give me a chance to show people what I'm made of !"

Kate: Ladies and gents, it's Tabby!
