We are really getting our money's worth from The X Factor contestants! On tonight's results show before the voting lines close, each act is asked to choose one song to reprise. The order of the acts is the reverse of that on the early evening show. Click on the contestant links below to find out how they got on... |
The good news this week is that tonight's evictee will be the entirely down to the public. The judges have given up on their deciding vote from hereon in. Still, one of the acts is about to hear bad news! ... Kate reveals that the votes are in, all three and a half million of them. Mentors Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh take position around the stage with their acts. |
| The first act to go through to next week's semi-final in, as Kate stresses, 'no particular order' is Tabby! Tabby jumps for joy and cries out "Oh for ****'s sake!" He gives Sharon a lift and Rowetta runs over to join in a hug-fest. Kate puts on her best school-ma'am voice "Rowetta get back to your camp! Thank you." |
The second act to be declared is G4! Louis and the gang jump up and down. Instead of straining his vocal chords this week Jonathan risks pulling a back muscle as he lifts Louis in the air and spins him around! Just as Kate is about to announce the remaining semi-final place, Rowetta leaves her mark again and walks over to congratulate the G4 gang.
| "Rowetta can I ask you to return. Rowetta! Can I ask you to return to Simon's camp! Rowetta, for the last time get back to your mark, thank you!" Rowetta slowly makes her way back. She now knows it will be either herself or Steve leaving the contest tonight. Her nerves are obvious, she doesn't look as though she wants to hear what's coming next. |
Rowetta's mum Marcia is in the audience tonight for the first time. As Kate declares "The third act through to the semi-final is...", a sobbing Rowetta seems to be mouthing the words "sorry mum". She attempts to walk away but Simon pulls her back. |
Kate continues, "...Steve!" Steve is sensitive to Rowetta's disappointment and doesn't jump up in the air, instead he moves to console her. Rowetta is beside herself and walks away. She looks like she is heading off stage, but stops briefly to say a 'thank you' to Kate.
Kate can't persuade Rowetta to stay on stage. As Kate calls to Simon for assistance Tabby and Sharon comfort Rowetta and walk her back on. Kate must be feeling a bit stressed but she remains remarkably composed. As she calls up the videoclips of Rowetta's journey all the contestants make a bee-line to hug Rowetta. Amazingly, Rowetta seems completely calm when we switch back to her 'live'. Kate points the mike at her for a few words. "A few words" aren't in the vocabulary of this loveable livewire, and she shows she is in fine vocal form... |
"I'm not leaving, I'm staying with Tabby for the week. Mum I love yer! I couldn't stand to do this. With...I thought my mum and me grandma would be too upset. I'm fine, I'm pleased to be the last woman. I've tried my best, every week I've done 'I think' an alright performance. So I'm happy! Thank you every one who voted for me! Because honestly, at the beginning I was a mad woman, but honest... you've helped me so much! And I sang every week my heart out... and Simon you've told me I'm amazing..."
Kate has to cut in as the programme is about to end. "You know I talk for ages!" a smiling Rowetta tells her. We saw everything of Rowetta tonight, brilliant singing, raw emotion, tears, love and laughter. She has given great entertainment with her performances, her big personality and her unpredictable outbursts. Somehow we have the feeling we haven't seen the last of Rowetta on our TV screens; let's hope so anyway! |
