Souled Out!

Poor old Louis Walsh! Last week he agonised about which of his acts to send home and tonight he has to do the same again! Cassie, Tabby, Steve and finally Rowetta are declared safe for next week's final five, leaving Louis' two remaining acts to sing it out for the remaining place.
The first judge to be asked for her verdict is Sharon Osbourne.
Earlier in the show Sharon described the performance of Voices With Soul as "the best performance that I've seen on this show by anyone!" They must be hopeful.
Sharon prefaces her decision by stating "This is about a recording contract ultimately, and it's about selling records and not just based on a performance tonight but for a future of a recording career". She then reveals the act she elects to go home, which is "Voices With Soul".
Simon seems less tormented by his decision. He says he doesn't wish to send either act home "...but the artists I think should go home tonight are G4".
Louis Walsh finds it near impossible to decide between G4 and Voices With Soul.
With one vote a piece, it's over to Louis for the casting vote. His eyes look very watery! It's like a repeat of last week only somehow ten times more intense!
The glum expressions of Louis' team mates Faye Sawyer and Dave Laudat are visible in Louis' backdrop. Louis protests vainly against his predicament as the clock ticks on. He knows he is cornered and has to say something. He finally declares "The band I think I have to send home are Voices With Soul".
The band take their bad news with dignity. Daughter Corene even claps! However tears soon follow.
Voices With Soul have been in the bottom two 3 times now, yet still they must share a great deal of pride in their achievement. Not only have they acquitted themselves well throughout the contest but they leave tonight to rave reviews!
Hildia from Voices With Soul sheds a tear as she bids farewell to the competition.
As Kate Thornton winds up the show, tearstained aunt Hildia says a few parting words "I just want to say... God has just brought us this far... and you know what? You haven't seen the last of us!"
