Before Simon Cowell introduces Rowetta, Kate Thornton has a little joke at his expense. "Ladies first...Simon, who are you playing next?" Kate has just tickled her own funny bone, and she finds it hard to stop laughing!

Speaking of Rowetta, Simon says "...This is the reason we were right to open the competition to any age at all. Because this girl, I believe is a superstar in the making."

The key thing that Simon asks of Rowetta is that she doesn’t talk after she stops singing, "Just sing the song and they’ll love you".

Rowetta sings Dusty Springfield’s ‘You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me’. There’s maybe a touch of irony here, because after many of Rowetta’s previous X Factor performances she has kind of demanded that Simon says he loves her (singing that is!)

Anyway Simon shouldn’t have to say he loves Rowetta’s voice, because it’s usually written all over his face. Tonight is no exception! She gives a powerful performance and infuses the song with all the emotion and pain that it needs.

The audience loves her too, including Rowetta’s boot camp buddy Angie who is seen cheering loudly for her.

Simon greets her with a kiss on each cheek. When the audience eventually dies down Rowetta is able to hear what Louis and Sharon think of her.

Kate: Now Louis. The first time you met Rowetta you said she was nuts. Did you go nuts for her tonight?

Louis: I absolutely love this girl’s voice. (Cheers ...Rowetta is on the verge of tears...again!) I absolutely love it. Rowetta, I love that song. I just think you’re fantastic and I’m going to buy your record when it comes out. I love ya!

Rowetta: Thank you!

Kate: ...Okay. Sharon!

Sharon: Rowetta, you know, you’re fantastic. You’re brilliant, and I must say something...that you have a god given talent and Simon had nothing to do with it. (Simon keeps smiling and holds Rowetta closer) ...You get this from god, not from Simon Cowell. Okay? You’re brilliant and I love you.

Rowetta: I love you too!

Kate: So guys, just before we come over to Simon, you were both unsure...Louis most definitely...

Louis: I was very unsure about her...

Kate: Has Rowetta won you over tonight?

Louis: Oh, I would buy her record. I think she’s a star. I really, really do! (Cheers)

Rowetta: Thank you.

Louis: ...Love her! I’m just jealous Simon has her!

Kate: So Simon, you’ve got what Louis Walsh wants.

Simon: You’re jealous but you wouldn’t have put her in your category. Simple as that. Erm, I think she...

Sharon: You didn’t!

Simon: Yes I did! Yes I did!

Sharon: You are ...you...I ...ohhh! I was the one

Simon: Okay this is my time under the spotlight...

Sharon: ...don’t you start looking for more glory (shakes her head) ...looking for more bl**dy glory.

Simon: Erm, I want to say congratulations to you (Rowetta) and I want to thank my team, Annie and Sinitta for helping her and all my contestants this week, they’ve done a great job.

Rowetta: Thank you.

Simon: This girl is a star.

Rowetta: Thank you...(she kisses Simon then makes to leave)

Kate: (Keeps hold of Rowetta) So Rowetta, come back. I wanna talk to you!

Simon: Stay! (Like he’s training a puppy)

Rowetta: I am!

Kate: There’s always high emotion with you, but tonight is where it really counted. How do you think you did tonight?

Rowetta: I hope I’ve done enough...erm...I’ve gone through so much for this competition, I couldn’t have given you any more. Honest to god, I am very emotional but I’ve kept it all in tonight.

Simon: (sarcastically) Noooo!

Rowetta: Noo...(breaks away from Kate, and skips away happily with her hands aloft, jokingly shouting)... Yes I’m through aren’t I!

She’ll have to wait another 2 hours or so to find out for sure, but if the judges have any sway with the public at all there’ll be no problems for her this week!
