2 To Go - Don't Know Much (Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt)

During his intro for 2 To Go (Peter Jones and Emma Paine), Louis Walsh reminds us that at the auditions the judges had their reservations. "When we saw these guys the first time we weren’t sure about them...because Peter, y’know he’s blind, and Emma wasn’t the best singer at the time...but she’s improved so much since. So watch them and listen to them, ‘2 To Go’!

We find out that Peter and Emma have had a bit of an image makeover recently. Louis said he’d like Emma’s hair to be more ‘showbizzy’. Emma’s only worry was that it would be cut short, she’s been growing it for years and wants to keep it long. She is sent along to hair consultant Daniel Galvin in George Street, Marylebone for the new showbizzy style.

2 To Go 'Don't Know Much' but they know they'd really like to win The X Factor!

When Peter and Emma come out to sing their number ‘Don’t Know Much’ (by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt) Emma’s locks are still long and flowing, as is the beautiful black dress she’s wearing.

Peter is seated and Emma stands beside him as they sing. It’s a comfortable arrangement, both visually and vocally. Emma sings beautifully throughout, Peter also performs well although his voice does sound a little bit strained at one point.

2 To Go receive great applause from an extremely enthusiastic audience and from an enthusiastic Louis who greets them as the arrive to face Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell.

Sharon: Well! Gosh you guys have come a long way. Emma, when we first saw you I had my doubts about you. You were just amazing tonight in every which way! The one thing...the only bad thing I can say is ‘2 To Go’, it just reminds me of a take-out, I should say ‘2 To Go’ with rice please! (Peter and Emma laugh)

Kate: Thank you Sharon!

Sharon: You’re great!

Kate: Thank you. Simon?

To 2 Go with rice please? !!

Simon: Erm, I agree with what a lot of Sharon said. I think you really have improved and you’re under a lot of pressure. Erm, I think on a negative thing...and there’s a bit of a theme running tonight with the younger singers... is you’ve made them very old fashioned Louis. Y’know Peter’s got a very good soul voice and you chose a very Disney, safe, soft song. (boos)

Peter: (To Simon) Shut up!

Simon: ...which is fine, it’s a beautiful song. It’s just... I wish you’d just...

Louis: Simon...Simon you...you...most of your acts record Unchained Melody. Y’know that’s been done so many times. I mean...hello! Kate...this is the man that gave us (mocking tone) ‘Robson and Jerome’! Hello! (Louis would be good on Jerry Springer!)

Simon: Louis, Louis...

Louis: These are better singers Simon!

Simon: ...with respect...Louis! These guys...those guys are in their 30s. These are young people. You can’t do the same thing you do with all your acts to them. They’re better than that Louis!

Louis: Simon they’re fantastic. I’m very happy with them!

Aren’t Louis and Simon great at having a raging argument, even when they basically both agree with one another?!

Hopefully for 2 To Go the public might also agree with Simon and Louis and think they are great enough to vote to keep them in!
