Twist-ed judges say goodbye to Roberta!

Tonight on 'The X Factor' Kate Thornton revealed a new twist in the proceedings.

The 2 acts that receive the lowest number of public votes must perform again in the results show and the judges then decide which of the 2 goes home.

Those acts turned out to be Voices With Soul and Roberta Howett. This came as a bit of a shock because both acts turned in good performances during the six o'clock show.

Voices With Soul received good comments from all the judges, Roberta's only negatives came from Simon Cowell who thought "her hair made her look like something out of Charlie's Angels in 1971" and also that she reminded him a bit of a hotel singer.

Both acts received plenty of applause and audience whooping for their repeat performances. However, It was the judges opinions that would matter and the question on everyone's mind was 'will Louis and Sharon stay loyal to their acts?'

The answer to that was 'most definitely'. Louis voted to keep Voices With Soul, Sharon voted to keep Roberta. This meant that Simon had the deciding vote.

Roberta makes a dignified exit.

Before revealing his choice Simon told Kate Thornton "You know what? I actually don't think either of these artists deserve to be in the bottom two Kate... I can see potential with both acts...
Okay, if I saw both acts for the first time tonight, the artist I would be sending home... and I will be sending home...is Roberta."

The audience erupted into a mixture of joy and despair, while Roberta shouldered her her disappointment with dignity and composure.

It was a shame to see the Irish beauty leave so early. No-one can dispute that she has a great voice and a great look, just not 'great luck' tonight.
