Tonight the acts receiving the fewest public votes were Addictiv Ladies and Chico Slimani. Simon gave his Addictiv Ladies a shock when he made the mistake of naming them to leave the contest, but quickly corrected this. Sharon of course voted for Addictiv Ladies to go and her Chico to stay! Louis used his casting vote to send Addictiv Ladies home, prompting Simon to declare "Louis Walsh you are a joke!"

Fleur, Stephanie, Vivienne and Nicola, all just 17, bowed out with grace. They've enjoyed their X Factor journey and value their achievement of making it to the finals. Straight after hearing Louis' verdict Stephanie told Kate Thornton "it hurts, but we've made it here man, half the people didn't even make it here!"

Although the girls bid the contest farewell, their 2 performances tonight were a marked improvement on their audition and Boot Camp showings.

Over the past few weeks the 'ladies' have put plenty of smiles on the faces of Simon as well as the viewing public! We'll miss them, they were a breath of fresh air and never failed to entertain!

At the end of day 1 Sharon whittled her Over 25 category down from 89 to just 14. She also gave her chosen few a list of 5 songs. They must choose just one to rehearse overnight...
